Derrydean Dadzie is an ’06 Ashesi University graduate in the computer science program, who along with four other Ashesi graduates started DreamOval Ltd in 2007. The team believes in transforming Africa through the power of the emerging technologies, and focused on delivering mobile web solutions tailored for the African market.
“Though small in scale, DreamOval’s aspirations have always extended beyond mere commercial success. Living in Ghana, the members of the DreamOval team – DOers, as they call themselves – have certainly observed the handicaps which accompany a technologically underdeveloped environment. Derrydean in particular admits he has a hankering to see “a technologically sufficient Africa” arise from the promising potential which currently abounds. Though they aspired to this sort of change, DreamOval did not have many opportunities to realize these aspirations in their first few years.” (from Ashesi web site)
“Today, DreamOval products include Outreach, i-Wallet, and Global Virtual Stock Exchange (GVSX). Outreach is a communications solution that enables enterprises to utilize SMS and Email for business-critical communication and relationship management. Customers include Ghana Home Loans, Ashesi University College and CAL Brokers. i-Wallet is an online payment solution that allows customers to make purchases electronically. i-Wallet is currently undergoing a community technical review and plans to launch in November 08. GVSX is an online portfolio management application that lets investment companies allow their clients to manage investment accounts online.” (from DreamOval Ltd web site)
Mr. Dadzie is definitely one of Ghana’s most aspiring entrepreneurs and role models. Having spoken at many occasions before, this is not a presentation you can afford to miss. Come join Mr. Dadzie and the Ghana Starters at our Launch Event on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 4PM at the Legon Campus of the University of Ghana.
